Abstract
This article examines the impact of microfrontend architecture on the performance and scalability of web applications. The relevance of the study is due to the increasing complexity of client applications and the need to ensure independent development and deployment of functional modules. The paper provides a comparative analysis of three architectural approaches: monolithic implementation, integration of modules using iframes, and microfrontends based on a modular federation mechanism. The experimental part includes the development of a test application and the measurement of key performance metrics – first render time, number of HTTP requests, volume of transferred resources, and total load time. The results show that modular federation provides a more balanced combination of performance and modularity compared to alternative solutions, especially as the system grows in scale. Conclusions are drawn about the feasibility of using microfrontend architecture in large and dynamically developing web projects.
