Abstract
The SDR (Software Defined Radio) concept plays an important role in the further development of such radio systems as adaptive radio, cognitive radio, and intelligent radio. The main idea of SDR is to be able to change the architecture of the device only through software without interfering with the hardware. Active use of software-defined radio technology by cellular operators is noted, since this technology allows to significantly reduce the budget for the operation of communication devices, and also expands the resource and capabilities of the infrastructure. On the basis of software-defined radio, not only radio communication equipment is created, but also radio monitoring equipment that provides the ability to monitor the radio frequency spectrum and radio environment with a minimum amount of equipment that does not require serious adjustment. Due to its simplicity, ease of use and a large number of different software, SDR technologies have become popular in amateur radio practice, where one device is successfully used to receive both short (HF) and ultrashort waves (VHF). The article provides an overview of SDR technologies and their application possibilities. The relevance of the study of the current state is presented and the prospects for the development of these technologies are analyzed.
